Hello,
We are using OTRS 5.
Once a month on random days, OTRS will show the message 'OTRS Daemon is not running'. This started recently.
Daemon status command showed that the daemons were running but the summary showed that they were not working.
How to troubleshoot this and what are the possible known causes this could happen?
There are no errors in any of the logs.
Regards,
Tom.

Re: Troubleshooting 'OTRS Daemon is not running'
Hello Tom,
The daemon stops if you stop it manually or the server restarts.
On a server restart, the cron should automatically restart the daemon.
Did you execute "bin/otrs.Cron.sh start"? Does your server restart from time to time?
Are there any messages in the OTRS or web server log?
Best regards
Emin

Thank you for the reply.zzz wrote: ↑27 Aug 2021, 12:43 Hello Tom,

The last server restart was few months ago and it does not restart frequently (maybe twice or thrice in a year).
And no one manually stopped the Daemon either. It was in a half-stopped kind of a state where the state check shows that Daemon is is running but it isn't actually running. So I'm assuming that it crashed somehow.
To fix this I executed the "bin/otrs.Cron.sh stop" and then "bin/otrs.Cron.sh start" and it started working properly.
Regards,
Tom.
