Reinstallation of OTRS on Windows machine

I have now installation of OTRS on Windows 2008 Server. It is version 3.0.11

I want to upgrade OTRS to newest version. Fortunately I do not have much data in it so I can consider fully new installation
I would like to know if my installation shall be much different than standard first time installation.
The problem is that I have now MySQL data base (from previous installation) which will stay (I suppose) even if I uninstall OTRS (Am I right?)

You should be able to keep all the data, but you will want to have the proper backups. You will then need to install the new version and run some DB upgrade scripts to bring your 3.0 DB up to 3.1 specs. Here is a link to a YouTube video explaining the process:

Thank tyou for sending the youtube link. I saw it before and frankly saying after wathuich this video I decided not to upgrade ORTS but simply reinstall it. Infact I have not data yet in my installation so I do not need any upfgrade
So I would like to repeat my question:
Ho can I make fresh installation of the OTRS on a computer on which there was OTRS previously. Can I simply unistall previous installation and instal new? I suppose I can but what about data base MySQL, which will stay on computer after uninstallation (I suppose).
Will I need to do some special procedure during installation (different than in case of first installation)?

You can perform the installation in a new DB and then use the scripts DBUpdate-to** at /otrs/scripts on old db. After change the configuration of OTRS at Config.pm to bind old DB.

If you use the Uninstall program that comes with OTRS, it will wipe the program off of the machine (including DB and file storage). You can reboot and the install the new version if you are not planning to keep any of the prior data.

I read somwhere on the official website that there is no plan. Too bad really since there are a lot of windows users out there.
