Hello,
I have an OTRS server version Windows 3.3.3.
We need to reinstall a new (Windows) server.
Questions:
1) Is it possible to install an empty 5.0.19 version, then import the current DB (MySQL) of the version 3.3.3 ?
2) Will all configurations be imported with the DB export, or do we need to transfer some other files ?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey Athena,
unfortunately, OTRS doesn't support Windows Servers anymore. To use the newest version, you'd have to migrate to a linux server and then upgrade your system from 3.3 -> 4 -> 5 (follow the instructions below)

Re: Migration 3.3.3 to 5.0.19
Hi zzz,
Thanks for the answer.
As a migration to Linux is required, it won't be so easy...
I have a first question, about the OTRSCloneDB : is it possible to clone the DB from the Windows server to itself ? And then copy the export (wich files is it ?) ?
As the future Linux server will be hosted somewhere else, a direct NW link is not possible.
Or, will this simple procedure work ?
- Stop the DB
- Copy the DB files to the new server
- Run a manuel import procedure on the new server
Second question : the procedure you provided show a PostrGreSQL migration.
Is it also working with a MySQL DB ?
Thanks for the answer.

Re: Migration 3.3.3 to 5.0.19
if the database is now MySQL and will be MySQL in future you can just export it (mysqldump). Import it on the new server and start the migration
