Does free outlook mail work with OTRS community version as Postmaster Mail Account?

or any suggestions for a free mail that will work in my community version of OTRS. Thanks in advance.

Why shouldn't it work?

I understand, but we are using this community version for a year now with outlook and its working and just last week we cant fetch emails. Now we cant connect to POP3TLS, see attached pic.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Hi,

what did you change? What did your provider change?

Can't connect errors usually is DNS, blocked ports.

Check your connections.

Hi,

Usually an error with "Can't connect" point to the fact that the mail server is not reachable from the OTRS server. Are there any outgoing firewall rules configured (OTRS server, corporate firewall)?

Try to connect manually as the OTRS user with telnet

One hint, as people often suggest 'use telnet to connect'. This usually is a good Idea, but when connecting to TLS services, you better test via openssl s_client, in your case:

If the 'Verify return code' is != 0 you are having problems with the certificate verification (e.g. no roots installed). This can also lead to connection-problems, which are not revealed by connecting vi nc or telnet.

In general, you're right. But when it comes to just checking connectivity a telnet connection is sufficient. Especially with TLS, which means the connection starts in the first place unencrypted.

somebody tinkering around firewall ??
try to use ip based address instead if you cant still figure out what happen..

Hi,

Really IPs with Office365? I strongly advise using the DNS name. It's a geographic and load-balanced system and you can't rely on one single IP address. Check https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/micros ... -worldwide and you see which addresses are used.

Appreciate all the replies, just a little update to you guys. We already added the needed ports on our corporate firewall still no telnet connection.

Hi,

you have to add the port to the telnet command. It's 110 for POP3:
