Updating from 2.1.8 [solved]

Post by Amukinado »

Hi. I can see here

http://doc.otrs.org/2.4/en/html/x834.html

that you have to make updates in this order :
These instructions are for people upgrading OTRS from "2.3" to "2.4".

If you are running a lower version of OTRS you need to follow the upgrade path to 2.4 first (1.1->1.2->1.3->2.0->2.1->2.2->2.3->2.4 ...).
But...where can I find those packages/files.

Thanks.

Regards
Bruno

One more thing. Do I have to do every one of the updates like 2.1.8>2.1.9>2.2.1>2.2.2>2.2.3>2.2.4>....>2.4.5>2.4.6>2.4.7

Or can I go 2.1.1>2.2.1 ?

Should I use .tar.gz or the rpm's for updates?

Hi Bruno,

You should just fetch the latest version, 2.4.7, and then run the install scripts for 2.1.8 to 2.2, then to 2.3, then to 2.4 and then you're good. Notice that you need to run SQL updates as well as .pl files for some versions. Just check the UPGRADING file in the OTRS root directory. It's easy!

Read the UPGRADING file of the newest Version (2.4.7.)

You need to update the database with the provided scripts in the correct order (from 2.1 to 2.2. to 2.3 to 2.4.)

But you can also order some services from OTRS Inc. to do the update.
"Production": OTRS™ 8, OTRS™ 7, STORM powered by OTRS
"Testing": ((OTRS Community Edition)) and git Master
