What's OTRS's System Requirement ?

Hi All,

I would like to get OTRS's System Requirement. These are following information that I want to know.


What's Processor(s) that OTRS need to run ?
How much Memory storage that OTRS need to run ?
How much I should prepare Free Hard Disk Space for application in order to run OTRS Software ?
How much the Expected database growth per year ?

As a starting point, based on a single server running Apache, OTRS and MySQL, I recommend a dual core 2GHz CPU and 2GB RAM.

For disk space, the OTRS software is about 90MB once installed, and the database is approximately 0.9MB. Thereafter, the database will grow according to how many tickets you have. I've run a few production OTRS systems now and reckon on 0.5MB per ticket on average.

Right now, I've got a 2 week old OTRS 3 production system servicing external customers, which already has 760 tickets. The overall data has grown 390M since it was installed so, based on that volume of use, I'm projecting a cautious estimate (i.e. worst case) of 1GB per month.

With a database growing at that rate, you're pretty soon going to get performance issues unless you increase the RAM. To avoid this, I in fact have ticket articles stored on the FileSystem (via a setting in SysConfig), and I actually have the MySQL database on a separate server. So on my system the breakdown is 1MB in the database and 389M in /opt/otrs/var/article. I can let the latter grow without having to worry about anything more than disk space, which is relatively cheap compared to RAM.
