OTRS 3.0.22 to 3.1 Update

I am finally making the journey to a fully updated version of OTRS. Last week I was on version 2.4.15. I am now on version 3.0.22 and would like to continue down the upgrade path. I read "If you are running a lower version of OTRS you have to follow the upgrade path to 3.0 first (1.1->1.2->1.3->2.0->2.1->2.2->2.3->2.4->3.0->3.1 ...)!" and wanted confirmation on something before moving forward.

Do I need to upgrade from 3.0.22 -> 3.1.0 beta1 through beta5 -> 3.1.0 rc1 -> 3.1.1? Or can I upgrade from 3.0.22 -> 3.1.1? I know this may be a silly question but I rather be safe than assume the answer.

go always to the latest version of the next release.
So from 3.0.22 to 3.1.21.
From 3.1.21 to 3.2.16
From 3.2.16 to 3.3.8
