Notification configuration

Hello all,
I am using otrs 3.3.6 I have installed it in ubuntu 12.04 server having MySQL database as a backend.
i have a question about notification. also i have installed ITSM
Is it possible to set notification based on due date ?Actually while ticket creating itself i want to set notification to that agent based on due date selected...
so could you tell me is it possible?

For that I think you have to create a generic agent which sends out notifications or updates fields based on that date.
