too many articles in ticket?!

Post by fke »

Hi all,

we're stumbling about this behaviour in OTRS (3.0.4, mysql, apache):

Loading a Ticket lists every article (more than 400) in a scrollable list, but selecting any article doesn't do anything. I.e. tcpdump proves there is no traffic at all! Consequently, nothing happens at all.
Again, the buttons 'Show one article' and 'Show all articles' are missing.

Having a look into the database directly shows, that every content is there.

So, are there too many articles in this ticket?
Or is it anything else? Any hints on further tracking down the root cause?

Thanks in advance,
Florian

400 articles in a ticket? Really? that seems .. extreme, but it *could* be. Although I don't understand why clicking won't work. It's not like the db has to do any special work to grab articleID 1000 vs articleID 100. there's a chance that the rendering of the article itself might be a problem, though.

hi crythias,

thanks for your time.

There really is no hint, that there's anything bogus with the db. I can 'see' the ticket there, dump its content with everything in it, etc...

Just the web frontend doesn't seem to load completely or finish whatever it does, as the buttons 'Show one article' and 'Show all articles' are missing and choosing whatever article in the list triggers no request.
The list of articles is comnplete, i.e. showing all now 411 articles with all subject, other metadata, etc.

So, what to do?

Thanks again,
Florian

I have exactly the same problem as this. Has anyone figured it out yet? It is only one ticket, and yes the number of articles is just above 400.
Thanks

3.0.4 is unsecure and since long time not supported.

you should upgrade to 3.3.10 or the the actual OTRS4
