Dear Friends,
I am using only the customer user feature in OTRS 5. Is there any idea of what we can gain from customer? Is it some sort of grouping customer users? Your inputs would be very much helpful

A customer is e.g. a company and the customer user an employee of that company. That helps to avoid redundant data and helps to see how many tickets the customer creates (and helps to create some statistics as well).
