updating OTRS

Hi guys

We have an old otrs version (3.3.4) an I have been updating on a new machine to version 5 so far, I want to upgrade it to the latest version.

I have been following the upgrade procedure from this page https://doc.otrs.com/doc/manual/admin/5 ... ading.html

I will try too explain what I have done so far. I created a new ubuntu 18.04 server, installed OTRS 3.3.4, imported the prod database to the new dev machine (the conversion of the database from 5.5.4 to 5.7 wa done by our dba) and start doing the upgrade from 3 to 4 then from 4 to 5. So far I upgraded up to version 5 of OTRS and everything is working fine however when I start the deamon process of otrs, as mentionned in step 12 in the procedure, we started getting emails of Ticket Escalation of all the tickets in the our otrs.

Is there a way to avoid that?

Hi,

Don't start the daemon, go straight to version 6 and disable the escalation notification before you start the daemon again.
And if you're not interested in escalations at all disable them too.

Thanks for your quick reply

One more question we do want to keep the escalation. Once I start the deamon, if start back the escalation will the email be sent again?

Sure, that's what the escalation notification is for.
