Upgrade concept for LTS jumps?

Hello together,

i am wondering if the upcoming 7.3 (maybe LTS) will having a integrated upgrade path?
Means you can jump from
6.5 LTS -> 7.x LTS

without requiring to do the upgrades:
- 6.5 -> 7.0
- 7.0 -> 7.1
- 7.1 -> 7.2
- 7.2 -> 7.3

this will make a full managed migration way easier and smoother.
The idea is to have a wrapper script, which is doing the intermediate steps out of the box, so no need to do the intermediate upgrades manually

Maybe you have it already implemented, but it is unclear to us.

It would be really great, that we could jump from LTS to LTS without requiring that many intermediate updates/upgrades.
And with the upcoming 7.x LTS it would be AFAIK the second LTS version, which would be a good timepoint to introduce that behavior.

Just to be sure and assumed 7.3 will be LTS:

we still have to undergo all upgrade steps from 6.5 to 7.3 in this manner?
- 6.5 -> 7.0
- 7.0 -> 7.1
- 7.1 -> 7.2
- 7.2 -> 7.3

So no LTS improvement neither planned nor wished for a
6.5 -> 7.3 direct upgrade?
