Line breaks in calendar-based ticket creation

Post by hge »

Hi,

When creating a ticket based on a calendar entry, the message specified in the calendar entry is transferred to the ticket description differently. Before we updated to Znuny version 7.3.1, line breaks appeared without any issues in the ticket body as well; since then, they no longer do, and all text appears without paragraphs, which makes it difficult to extract essential information.

I know that the description field cannot be formatted when creating tickets based on the calendar. In other words, it’s not a CKEditor field. However, until now, it was possible to create paragraphs using line breaks, so essentially, minimal formatting was possible. I’ve gone through the release notes, but I didn’t really find any mention suggesting that this feature was intentionally removed, nor any mention that a new setting now applies to this.

Line breaks are preserved in the interface used to create calendar entries. Similarly, there are no line breaks in the text that appears when you hover over a calendar entry. There weren’t any line breaks in the latter before either, so this didn’t bother us much. However, since the update, the description in the ticket view has been behaving in a similar way.

Could this be a bug?

Thanks,
HG

Hi Gergely,

I tested what you wrote, and I cannot reproduce the issue. With Znuny 7.3, a new line appears correctly in both the appointment and the generated ticket.

Please see the attached screenshots:

Text in the appointment:

Created ticket:

Text in the editor after the ticket has been created:

It seems that the problem has been resolved in the meantime.

Best regards,
László
