Email reminders about calendar events

Is there anyway to have the calendar module automatically email event participant's? Or can you somehow link an event to a ticket?

If I have some breathing room, I'm very interested (and have the capability/knowledge to make it work) to make a Google Calendar interface for this. Not simply iCal export/import, but directly utilize the Google Apps API to do what you request and use it to send all the appropriate reminders and directly place events. I can't guarantee how soon, but I want this bad enough to make a concerted effort to put it together.

As much as I love the idea crythias, currently I was talking about the calendar module that's actually available for otrs. Did you develop that?

I didn't develop anything with regards to OTRS. (dirty secret: I've only been using OTRS for about 3 months). Don't tell anyone .

crythias, has any progress been made on the Google Calendar API stuff? My team would be very interested in this, if you're still thinking about implementing it (or if you already have ). Thanks.

Well,my employment situation has changed since then, version 3 was released, and ... I'm lazy. But I might consider working on it. Nobody had asked, so...
