Intended use Object for "Linked as Depends on/Required for"?

Hello again, OTRS-ITSM staff!!!
What should I understand when I link an object (say e.g. an CI) in a Work Order as "Normal/Depends on/Required for" ???

Is there some kind of built-in PERL logic inside the form which yields some cross-control over CI/Services or it is there only for informational purposes when an Agent deals with the change???
