no from field when sending email from otrs

Post by aviramb »

hello

i have exchange server and pineapp,i configured mail boxes on pineapp to fetch mails from.
when sending mails from exchange to the otrs system i get the autoreply but for example when i send mail from gmail i receive the mail and a ticket is opened but i get an error from external isp that the autoreply was sent with no from field.
is there something wrong in the otrs configuration or of the pineapp that the mails go out from it?

please advice

having an empty from field is technically valid. so your upstream provider is not RFC compliant.

However, you can set a fixed one via Core::Sendmail in Sysconfig
"Production": OTRS™ 8, OTRS™ 7, STORM powered by OTRS
"Testing": ((OTRS Community Edition)) and git Master

You can set that per queue.
OTRS 6.0.x (private/testing/public) on Linux with MySQL database.
