[SOVLED] OTRS 3.0.10 On Windows 2008 No Outgoing Email

I probably posted for assistance several months ago, but now I need to get outgoing email working. Incoming email is fetched using POP3 through Exchange. However, outgoing email is going nowhere. Nothing in the otrs log files for anything outgoing, the log files are blank. I need to find a way to get otrs to drop whatever it's problem is and start sending email. I am using hmailserver as a relay on the same server as otrs. I have framework::core::sendmail set to SMTP, localhost for the server, and no authentication. All settings I verified as correct through outlook.

Why doesn't OTRS send out bote-external responses or automatic notifications?

OTRS Setup:
OTRS 3.0.10
Windows Server 2008 R2
IIS 7
hMailServer for smtp relay

note external won't (shouldn't?) send notifications. It merely should be customer side visible or not.
Auto responses only happen to queues for which they apply.

If you are using Windows, your logs would be in a file called otrs.log (I think?)

Thanks for the response. Got both working now. You reminded me to get the auto replies setup and then hooked up to the queue, and also to setup a notification event. Thanks.
