Hopefully helpful blog posts on OTRS configuration

Post by tmoore82 »

Hi all. I just wanted to provide a link to some blog posts I wrote in conjunction with my recent OTRS setup. You can find the first one at http://htddi.wordpress.com/2014/02/04/otrs-config-pt1/, and the other two are linked from there. The first one covers more high-level concepts about what Queues, Groups, and Roles are, and the second post talks about how to implement them. The third one is kind of a hodgepodge of different tasks I had to complete for my last company to get them up and running.

Some of the original concepts were tough for me to wrap my head around, and it took me a lot of searching to find my way through some of the settings. I thought these posts might help some others just starting out.

I'd almost rather you posted your information here or on the wiki and we'd set it as a HowTo.

It's not anything against you or your site, but it's not perceived as link bait if it's on a "known" OTRS Community site.
OTRS 6.0.x (private/testing/public) on Linux with MySQL database.

I'd be happy to provide the content of my posts for the wiki and update the link here if that's preferable. I was a little concerned about posting link bait, but the posts are too long to include here, and I honestly just didn't think about the wiki. :)
