LDAP for OTRS Appliance

Is there any documentation for setting up OTRS appliance for LDAP Authentication? Everything I have found is for the regular version of OTRS (plus it's incredibly arcane).

You have to follow the Guideline in the Admin manual and alter the Config.pm

If you mean the appliance manual, it only includes information about preforming installation. If you mean the OTRS 3.3 manual, it is very confusing. What is the difference between using LDAP for Customer login vs. Agent authentication (I don't even know what the difference is between the two)? Section 5.3.1.2 of the manual (which references the non-existent Example 11-7). Example 4.12 has some sort of arcane comments pertaining to script commands, but how can I run those on a Windows install of OTRS (which I had to switch to because I could not get in to the edit the config file on the appliance)?

You'll have to do the same arcane measures against the Windows Install as you would have from the Appliance install.

Will newer versions of OTRS work LDAP configuration into the Admin interface?

No. But you can hire an expert or get a managed system.
