Hi!
The otrs sendmail (smtp) function will work with fqdn?
If the otrs machine has no DNS name on the internet, then the sendmail function (with smtp) will not work? Or it depends on smtp server?
OTRS smtp, fqdn

Re: OTRS smtp, fqdn
If the FQDN of the SMTP server/smarthost is resolvable to an IP address, and no mail traffic ports are blocked, and the SMTP host is listening and allows connection from OTRS's IP address, either internally or as provided by NAT (external IP address).makgab wrote:The otrs sendmail (smtp) function will work with fqdn?
Have you ever browsed the internet with a device that had no DNS name on the Internet? Ever even thought for a minute "This shouldn't be working."?makgab wrote:If the otrs machine has no DNS name on the internet, then the sendmail function (with smtp) will not work?
OTRS 6.0.x (private/testing/public) on Linux with MySQL database.

Re: OTRS smtp, fqdn
The otrs is VM in LAN. (No DNS in LAN.)
I set a postfix in the otrs VM and otrs can send mail with function "sendmail".
