appliance for otrs 4.0.1 does accept login

I have installed the appliance for otrs 4.0.1 on VirtualBox and the login fails for the start user root@localhost.
The user exists since setting the password on the shell works, but a new set password isn't accepted either.

Has anyone successfully used the appliance in that version? I will try with an older version of the appliance now, maybe that will work.

Ok, turns out I'm stupid, so I can answer my own question now.

the admin account is only working on the index.pl page, I started out using the customer.pl page, which doesn't accept it.

Should have noticed that before, sorry.
