Upgrade from 3.3 to 4.0

I want upgrade my otrs 3.3 to version 4.
I have a question, if I can do the upgrade from version 3.3.16 to the latest 4.0.19?
Maybe it is safer to upgrade to some older - for example 4.0.1?
OTRS 4.0.19/6.0.26, openSUSE 12, MySQL 5.5

please always use the latest patchlevel of a version as they contain loads of bugfixes... (Thats why new patchlevels are released).

Actual version of OTRS is 5.0.14
"Production": OTRS™ 8, OTRS™ 7, STORM powered by OTRS
"Testing": ((OTRS Community Edition)) and git Master
