Hi All,

First time here so please bear with me if something seems obvious...

We are currently looking at using this system as a fault management module and one of the requirements we have is for "engineers" to be able to close a ticket while they are on location. I know there is currently an IPhone app that allows mobile access to the system but was curious about the access. My main point is what if the engineer in question doesn't have internet access in his location? Bad signal, no connection etc etc. Would the app, or indeed is there anything out there currently that can be configured, would it be able to store the information collected locally and then sync with the main application later?

Example:
Engineer arrives on site
Fixes problem
Goes to his phone app to fill out a response but there is no connection on his phone
Data he entered gets saved locally to his phone
He later goes back into the office, phone gets a decent connection and uploads the data to the main system.

Is any of this possible?
Does OTRS already do this or would it have to be a custom built app?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

there is no offline app for OTRS: OTRS always will need network access for functionallity
