Re: Remove Appliance Manager Package
Yep, excellent. That worked perfectly. I guess this should be marked as "Solved" now.

Re: source or packet manager ?
My opinion to throw into the mix: Don't use Ubuntu server, use Debian (if not one of OTRS' preferred distros). Never use the version in the package manager. From what I understand it is terribly out of date and OTRS has no intention of supporting the package manager version any longer. From source i...

Re: Remove Appliance Manager Package
I picked Debian because that is the distro I am most experienced with, and I did a test setup of OTRS on a fresh Debian install and experienced no issues. I know OTRS has been finicky with their OS support in the past, but a distribution as widely used as Debian shouldn't have any issues now or in t...

Remove Appliance Manager Package
I have completed a migration from an Appliance version of OTRS to OTRS on a Debian server. Whole migration went rather well, no major problems I couldn't figure out. But now I am stuck with the "Appliance Manager" package which I cannot get rid of. There is no uninstall option. Anyone have...

Re: OTRS Appliance Future Support
I suppose I can sympathize with that. I'll be pressing forward with my conversion of the Appliance (on a copy of course), and if successful, I'll post my steps here. If I can't convert it to a normal Debian install, what would you suggest for a method to migrate all of the existing ticket and ITSM d...

Re: OTRS Appliance Future Support
Apologies if I came off aggressive in my posts. Maybe its a bit of a language barrier or I just misunderstood. I still really wish someone, even maybe just a community group, would take over maintaining the Appliance. Perhaps I'll clone our VM running our Appliance and experiment with unlocking it a...

Re: OTRS Appliance Future Support
That is exactly what the Appliance was billed as. I understand of course that a self installed and self managed OS is more supportable from a local IT standpoint. But the whole original point of the Appliance was that it was going to be a standardized, maintained, and supported system for OTRS. And ...

OTRS Appliance Future Support
Its continuing to look more and more like the OTRS Appliance is going to be abandoned mid support cycle. Is this true? Does anyone have any idea why?
