you should brush up on LDAP and how servers query information. referer to http://www.ldapman.org/articles/intro_to_ldap.html and take a gander at it. it will explain alot. basically your domain is set up like a tree Distinguished name organizational unit organizational unit it looks similar to this....

i finally got it
thanks for the help, i setup IMAP and used the login account.
works just perfectly, ideally i would have liked to not use IMAP, however, it works how i want it too! i tried starting POP before and it errored out, thats why i asked for some suggestions

now if i get it setup can i have users send email to Support@domain.com for example, (my domain) and it generates a ticket and a ticket number?

instead of using a CN, have you tried using just the domain? thats how i pull my users
'DC=iks,DC=local'; your domain is iks.local? just use that. it will pull Every user.
