Is Znuny compatible with RHEL8?

Post by scrumb »

We're currently running Znuny on our CentOS7 install, but in the very near future will be forced to upgrade to RHEL8. Just wondering if the current RHEL7 packages will install and run fine on RHEL8? Only asking because I don't seem to see any RHEL8 specific RPMs for install. Thanks.

Hi,

I used the EL7 RPMs also in RHEL8. If there will be EL8 RPMs is not determined yet. I would always recommend the installation from the archives with symlinks. This prevents you from keeping old, outdated files which not being to the RPM in the application folder.

I would like to ask a similar question, so I would like to ask it here.

I am currently using Znuny "6.4.4" on RHEL7.7.
I am planning to upgrade RHEL7.7 to RHEL8.9.

(1) Will Znuny continue to work even if I upgrade the OS? Is it necessary to migrate or reinstall znuny data when upgrading the OS?

(2) Is there anything I should be careful about when upgrading the OS? For example, do I need to stop the Znuny service when upgrading the OS?

If you do not mind, please teach me.
Thank you.
