Installing New OTRS-Very Urgent Please

Can I install OTRS ticketing system on a shared web hosting package I have
I have a web hosting account with siteground
How can I install for my site maybe I will access it at...xyz.com/ticket
something like this
Also which version I will need to download in order to work on a shared web hosting
Please guide soon

You'll need shell access to install. And also the possibilitay to change Apache Settings and to install Perl Modules.

You should have a look on otrs on demand (http://www.otrsondemand.com/)

see i have unzipped the files to otrs folder under public_html folder but upon opening xyz.com/otrs i get to see all the files in it and not the installation starting screen why so ?

As I said before: read the manual!

If you are not able to install it on a dedicated server, there are 3 possibilities:
- use it as Software as a Service (OTRS on demand)
- have it as managed OTRS
- buy some services for Conceptional Design and Installation

Have a look at the value of DirectoryIndex in your Apache config. Also look at the value of Options in the part of your Apache config that affects the OTRS directory.

However, it is vital to run xyz.com/otrs/installer.pl before attempting to access the index.pl page.

No, what it says is "If you use MySQL as the database back-end, you can use the web installer of OTRS to setup the database."

You need to install MySQL yourself, preferably set a root password, then use these details with the installer.pl to create the otrs user/schema and tables.

in most cases no, as you need to modify the apache config
