Re: How to install OTRS 3.0b1 on CentOS 5.5
One quick error on the wiki :
$ wget http://ftp.otrs.org/pub/otrs/RPMS/suse/ ... noarch.rpm
should read
$ wget http://ftp.otrs.org/pub/otrs/RPMS/fedor ... noarch.rpm
or
$ wget http://ftp.otrs.org/pub/otrs/RPMS/fedor ... noarch.rpm
(depending on which you are going to use)
I know its picky but I fell into the trap of downloading the suse 11 version thinking "well I'm really not sure about this but it says for CentOS 5.5 at the top so it must be ok"
Rest of the guide is golden.

Re: How to install OTRS 3.0b1 on CentOS 5.5
I made the update, thanks. Been out of pocket for over a month.
I'm going to update & clean up for 3.0b5 on CentOS 5.5.
I did a fresh install of RHEL 5.5 last week. I'll follow the steps to ensure they're exactly the same and note any differences.
Anyone know why OTRS devs recommend to disable SELinux? I've installed SELinux on permissive and could not find any issues on CentOS 5.5. A small explanation would be great.

selinux appears to prevent Apache from writing to disk (interactively) on occasion. If there's a problem changing configuration from web, it's likely a problem that's associated with selinux.
