New server, old database

Hello,

i have otrs installed on our testserver (Windows Server 2008 R2) and the database on another server (SQL Server 2008 R2). Now i want to install otrs on a new Windows Server 2012 and use the old database. I red a lot in the forums and the www but i'm not quite sure how to do this at best. I would shutdown otrs for an day, copy the old database, install the new otrs with the copy of the old database and then configure otrs like the old one.
Maybe there exists an better way to do this? Any suggestions?
