Hi there,
I am wondering about this
viewtopic.php?p=175309#p175309
and this
https://github.com/znuny/znuny-feature- ... s/issues/9
What means it is a sponsored feature? (sure: someone pays for it)
How to get features implemented in this way?
How to place them?
e.g. what costed this sponsored feature?
Sponsored features?

Re: Sponsored features?
Hi,
sponsored features are often, but not exclusively, features that are already available as add-ons and get donated by the copyright holder (customer/company).
1) In the most cases a migration is imminent and they see a win win situation:
- if it is integrated in the core, they don't have to pay extra for updates
- they give something back to the community
2) We see a good use case, during the specification phase, for the community and split costs with customer.
For reasons, see 1.
3) In some other cases companies donate add-ons they own, to be integrated. Like perl-services, sector nord, maxence and others.
Criteria's are pretty simple, well used, well known add-ons which do not only cover single or extravagant use-/edge-cases.
They contact us upfront and we discuss the details.
It's pretty rare that someone just creates a PR for a feature without talking to us upfront. Also see described in the contrib file: https://github.com/znuny/Znuny/blob/dev/CONTRIBUTING.md
Things like:
- code policy checks have to pass,
- documentation has to be provided
- unit tests have to be created or extended
are mandatory.
If one wants to donate (meaning: pay for a non existing feature) a feature, we create the specification with the customer, develop the feature. Let the customer test and use it and release it later for the Znuny standard.
We don't / won't disclose any prices here. Please understand.
Just curious, what are you wondering about?hkais wrote: ↑17 Aug 2022, 11:02 I am wondering about this

That someone has the same feature request as in this GitHub issue?

Re: Sponsored features?
it is a matter of decision, to implement on our own, or to let it implement.
But here it is a economical decision. So unclear how to get down to it.

Re: Sponsored features?
Hi,
it can be both ways: our team can build it or you build it yourself and send a PR for it. If all aspects (Codequality, usecase and so on) match. It will probably be added. As usual, ask upfront and you should be good.
