Ajax error because of cache subdir level

Hello,

for weeks we had very annoying ajax error popups that seemed to appear randomly. We were finally able to fix them by setting the Cache SubDirLevel from 2 to 0. My question now is: Will that decrease the cache performance? And could this be considered a bug in otrs which we should report?

The only messages we were able to find are from the apache error log:

The "Can't cd" happened all the time, while the ajax popup only appeared when the last line ([error]) appeared in the log.

(Note: This happened on 3.3.5, 3.3.7 and 3.3.8 on three different VMs, all using Ubuntu)

permissions. Specifically, the caching location is stored while the folder is not created.

There were no messages about files not being able to be created. The folder has rights "otrs:www-data" and the otrs.SetPermissions.pl was run.

You will not get errors on write for folders not found. But either file system problems (space/permissions) or corrupt data.
