OTRS 3.3.8 Mail Configuration

Hello Buddy's ,

I have installed OTRS 3.3.8 on my REdhat 6 .
Now i want send/receive mails , I have tried to configure with SMTP 25 and am getting an auth failed error while trying to fetch mail .
Please kindly help me !!!!

When you've configured everything and it still doesn't work, have a look at the logs.

In logs its showing authentication failed for user/mail server ip .

OTRS error log says = POP3: Auth for user username/192.*.*.* failed!

Are you sure the credentials are correct? Can you show us the error message (replace username and ip)?

the above is the error shown in OTRS log when am trying to give "fetch Mail Option" and tried like mentioned below .

As the error states. Username/Password is wrong or the user has no permission to use POP3 on this server

The user which am using is the same use which current logged in OTRS tool .
Please let me know which user name and password should be used der ?.
The user name should be in mail server ?

I have created a admin user in otrs and logged in .
And i have added some email address in box "email Settings/post master mail accounts" in OTRS tool by giving the same "USER/Passwd" and mail server(pop3) details .
And i have tried fetch now option at that time its showing auth error
Now what should i do !!!! so the user name should also be created in mail server or ?......

should i ask them to create a mail box for OTRS !!! or to create the same admin user in mail server ???

Your credentials are being rejected at the server you are requesting POP3 access to fetch mail. The most likely cause, after verifying credentials, is that the account is prohibited from POP3 access. This is not an OTRS issue.

There was an credential issue i have corrected that !!!!
But still i couldn't able to send mail or fetch mail !!!
AM getting the below error while running the below script in /opt/otrs/bin )

you seem to expect enterprise grade support in the forums. Also your IT knowledge is not sufficient for operating OTRS. Please hire professional services e.g. support or managed systems for getting your system up and running.

@Right there is knowledge, but it helps if you know how to ask the questions. The documentation of OTRS expects that you know of and can connect to an SMTP server to send mail and can pop to receive. Telling us you received an error message isn't sufficient. If you presented everything that you wrote in this post to a supervisor or your mother, what would they say? What would they ask?

Please read my Need Help? link in my signature. If you don't understand the difference between POP3 and SMTP, and send and receive mail, this is not the forum to learn it.
