Do OTRS 4.0.7 supports MS SQL Server?

Hi All,

Could not find this anywhere on the website/forum.

We are currently running OTRS 3.2.10 on a Windows environment. Since we can't upgrade OTRS on Windows anymore, we have decided to upgrade to OTRS appliance.

Question is can we configure OTRS appliance to use MS SQL as a database server?

Please response ASAP as I have to inform about it to the management.

you should consider to buy professional services. The community is not existend to help others ASAP.


You should really consider to switch to Linux with an mysql/postgres database. MSSQL is very low performance with Unix ODBC.
The appliance does not support MSSQL (except you want to patch it - not recommended), I think.

You can easyly switch to linux and a mysql or postgres with the new package, provided from xxx, OTRSCloneDB

We run a very basic setup of OTRS with only 3 to 4 agents working on it so even if it is slow, it will not worry us too much.

What patch is required to be installed to run OTRS with MSSQL on appliance?

you'll need Unix ODBC
Unix ODBC is not OTRS topic - so I can not help here

I strongly recommend to switch to a native linux + database switch
