Senmail not found

Hello,
I recently loaded the OTRS Virtual Aplliacne 4.0.8 in Oracle VM VirtalBox 4.3.28 on a Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit machine. The appliance appears to be missing sendmail. From console/shell, the console tells me that sendmail cannot be found or recognized. From the web UI, if a user clicks on "Lost your password?" inputs the user name, then clicks on "Request New Password" the user is taken to a screen that says "Error Message: No such binary: /usr/sbin/sendmail!"

Please help me to resolve this issue, thank you.

Hey,

I installed an appliance yesterday to test some stuff and I'm - to put it mildly - flabbergasted that the appliance (which should work out of the box) does neither have sendmail installed nor active repositories.

If you take a look at this thread:
viewtopic.php?t=28182

They explain that you should use SMTP directly (which isn't enabled as default) or activated the repos to install sendmail.
