Problem after update - Customer company info - missing customers

Post by cr1zz »

Hey all,

I will try my luck here too :)

After I migrated and updated my OTRS (3.2.x -> 3.3.x -> 4.0.10) everything seems to work.
But know I'm missing the customers in the customer company screen.

Any help appreciated.

The code doesn't delete customer information. check your tables.

Hey crythias,

thanks for your answer. The tables seems to be ok (customer info equals in both systems - live/test).
Next I experienced: If I manually add a new customer via the customer company info the new record does not show up in the info screen? <-- At test system.

MySQLcheck command runs smooth without any errors.

Note that 4.0 thinks customers are different from customer users.

In what way the customers were changed in OTRS 4.0?

If I use the following button, there should be a new customer user at the customer information center?

I don't use the German interface. Note that there is an active German language forum on this site.

It shouldn't. It will only show if you add a new customer via the customer user info screen, and that only if the ticket has been created with the customer. If the ticket was created, then the customer user was created, click the customer button on the ticket and choose the correct customer.

Somehow you appear to be looking at the wrong customer screen, but I can't verify this and can't imagine that this is a problem with the language.

I cannot confirm this. I did this in my live system, and the new customer appears after creating him via customer company info screen (please see attachments - If you have problems with the german just ask ;)).

I really am having difficulties assisting with this. To me, it seems there is something wrong with Config.pm or that would show up in the System Logs or error logs ... "Sorry customer doesn't exist".

Config.pm was copied and rebuilded. No entry in the error log regarding this :(

Additional info:

Problem occurs from update 3.3.x to 4.0.x.
Before I updated from 3.2.10 to 3.3.x -> Everything was ok

Perhaps something with our unique customer_user table design?

What is custom about your customer Config?

Is there something that would indicate my problem?

Re: Problem after update - Customer company info - missing customers

multiple issues I can't diagnose here. Some look like duplicate run of update. Some look like bad entries.

This is beyond the scope of what can be determined on a free forum.

Ok, for testing purposes I created a new test server with a blank 3.2.10 otrs and did the upgrading like on my other test system (3.2.10 -> 3.3.14 -> 4.0.11).

I created 2 customers and 2 customer-users. After the upgrade to 4.0.11 again all customers are missing in the customer infor screen?!

What am I doing wrong?

Probably I do have a different issue.

In the customer information center - customer users does work with users and componies stored in the internal or external database but it does not work if the users are stored in an ldap directory. Do I have to configure something in the Config.pm or does it not work with an ldap backend?

Thanks for your support.

Cheers,

This is important information that was glossed over during this conversation. It was assumed that customers were sourced from the database ... probably because you modified the database.

So, no, customers don't sync from LDAP to the database. The information is queried from the source on demand. Which means that if it's not working, you were using a third party ldap source util, perhaps, that doesn't seem to work in 4.0.
