Installing mod_perl on OTRS 3.3.12

I've recently upgraded from OTRS 3.1->3.2->3.3 in a lab.

v3.3 seems to run considerably slower than v3.1. I found that my v3.1 production was running mod_perl so I've been trying to install mod_perl on the v3.3 without any luck.

When I try to install mod_perl v2.0.9 by running:

perl Makefile.pl MP_AP_PREFIX=C:\otrs\Apache

I get:

The only info I can find says to downgrade to Strawberry perl v5.12. Will this work with OTRS v3.3?

Any other suggestions?

OTRS Version: 3.3.12
OS: Window Server 2008 R2 SP 1
Database: MS SQL Server 2008 R2
Perl Version: Strawberry Perl 5.16.3.1

switch to Linux. Windows Support is end of live and using OTRS on Windows is a real pain
