Currently, we use POP3 to fetch mails.
Sometimes, mails get stuck creating same tickets repeatedly until the mail is deleted.
This seems to have something to do with POP3.
Is IMAP a better option over POP3 for fetching mails? Please share your experience and suggestions.

I've wish to setup fetch mail in the way you have mentioned i.e. using procmail but I've been unsuccessful till now.
I have not completely understood how to set it up.
Going by your suggestion it seems that procmail would be the best option and a good solution to the POP3 issues.
I'll start working on it again. Thanks for the reply!
