Running OTRS 3.1.10 - Windows. How to upgrade to latest Linux version?

Hello All,
Since we are a boatload of releases behind, I was wondering if I am OK following the standard instructions to migrate from OTRS 3.1.10 Windows to the latest Linux version OTRS 5.0.12? http://otrs.github.io/doc/manual/admin/ ... s-to-linux

Or, are there additional steps I need to take, such as migrating to an older Linux version and then upgrading, etc?

Any insight would be much appreciated.

If you are running a lower version of OTRS you have to follow the upgrade path to 4 first (1.1->1.2->1.3->2.0->2.1->2.2->2.3->2.4->3.0->3.1->3.2->3.3->4)! You need to perform a full upgrade to every version in between, including database changes and the upgrading Perl script.

CloneDB is only needed if the database is MSSQL and needs to be converted to MySQL

I've been struggling with this need to migrate from Windows to Linux and from and old version (3.2.9) to the newest one (5.0.12).

Basically what you will need to do is this :

Follow this guide, even if it is for 4.0 you should be able to understand what you have to do in your current version to migrate to 3.1.10 on Linux. Please remember that you do not need all the parts that includes "CloneDB". MySQL can be exported and reimported as it is.

Then, you will have to follow these links to migrate to each versions until 5.0 :
