unable to login on installing otrs 6.0.12 with root@localhost

Iam trying to install otrs6.0.12 on ubuntu16.04, with postgresql.
Please suggest me whats going wrong with installation.


main page comes but login button is disabled. its inactive on clicking also forgot password link is disabled.
also through CLI:
when i set password using console.pl it says root@localhost doesnt exist
but when i try add user it says its already exist

I installed otrs-5.0.16.tar.gz before and it shows main page but i am unable to login with root@localhost. though login button is active

my mail server is not working.
Please help me out.

Please, share with us the steps you followed in order to find out which was the problem but I think you missed some steps of the procedure.

I did with MariaDB and it got install without issue. but with postgres it gives problem.
