Are DBUpdate-to-X.pl scripts idemponent?

Are the DBUpdate-to-X.pl like DBUpdate-to-6.pl idempoent in execution and can be executed multiple times without causing other issues?

I use them in this way. If if fails I fix this error and start the script again.

would be a great info for all Admins also in the installation/upgrade guide to let them know that the script can be executed multiple times.
