znuny 6.5.* upgrade debian bullseye to bookworm

Post by hugenin55 »

Hi,
we use znuny 6.5.* on debian 11. Now we want upgrade debian to bookworm. Is it installed on a system where znuny is installed?
What kind of problems can we get?

Thanks, Lutz

Hi,

as long as you fullfill the requirements https://doc.znuny.org/znuny_lts/release ... stall.html
What kind of problems can we get?
Anything. Depends on your system, integration, network, knowledge, ...
Maybe you have less disk space or missing firewall connections or whatever...
hard to say this far away

We've upgraded from Debian 10 to Debian 12 not long ago and if your installation is almost "out of box" you should be good.
Of course test your system on some clone server just to be sure.

Hi Lutz,

Upgrading to Bookworm might cause compatibility issues with Znuny 6.5.*. Check dependencies and backup before upgrading.

This is nonsense; Znuny runs well with Debian 12. The only issue could be that Perl modules are installed via CPAN - something I never needed with Debian.
