CK Editor upgrade chaged line spacing

Post by gob »

Hi

After running the latest 7.2 upgrade we now have the new CK Editor 5.
However I have noticed the line / Paragraph spacing on all templates and auto-responses has been increased which has changed the look of all email designs.
Also I have noticed that a logo we have embedded in a template response looks really large in the editor view, but looks correct in the received email.

I haven't managed to find any SysConfig parameters for the editor and wondered if anyone has experienced the same and has a workaround?

Thanks

Hi,

There is no sysconfig setting for this. CKEditor 5 handles line breaks from CKEditor 4 like paragraphs. You can compare this to word processors.

Hi @gob,

that's something that lots of (my) customers actually critisise after upgrading to 7.2.x.
As Roy said, it's a default from CKEditor and unfortunately, we haven't found the perfect solution yet either. But I'm sure there's a fix waiting somewhere.

To make it a little less "ugly", you can reduze the line height in SysConfig

Code: Select all

> Frontend::RichText::CSS::Content::Default
"font-family:Geneva,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 1.5;"
from 1.5 to something like 1.0 or 1.2 or even lower. But that depends on what you like and of course, check the result of a sent e-mail with a local mailbox first.

I'll keep you updated when we've had more time to search for a valid fix to the RichTextEditor's usability.
