Hi,
we plan to shorten the ticket number in our system.
One digit reduction could be done by shortening the system ID. Our ID is two digits, but we have only this one system, so a one-digit ID is sufficient.
Can we just change the ID without “breaking” the system?
The other thing is the counter size, which is set to 5 right now.
As we never have more than 20-ish tickets, we would like to reduce it to 2.
Same question here as well. Can we just edit the count size or will this break something in the ticket system?
Like tickets that are still open and have a higher count get a reply and not get a matching ticket found anymore?

You can change ticket number size without fear of breaking the system. Keep the ticket number couunter size consistent with the possible number of tickets.
