New Module: Display FAQ News in Dashboard

Hi all,

as I obviously got too much time at hand: Here's another Dashboard extension. This one displays the new and recently changed FAQ entries in the dashboard.

I missed this feature a lot since we primarily use the FAQ as a knowledge base for the agents at the call center. Often enough they miss new workflows or changes in company policies. Getting the recent changes in the dashboard comes naturally. So maybe this is useful for the community.

Again I'd live to know what you think about it or if you got ideas to make it better - so please drop me a line if you installed it.

Something would be nice:
To have a own option, how many last FAQ-Articles should be shown in the Dashboard, independent of the FAQ-Explorer Option (Sysconfig FAQ, Core Explorer)

Actually I thought about getting a separate config option for how many articles will be shown. I decided against it, and that's why:

Right now the package is widely independent of any other modification since it just adds to the existing setup. A separate config option for the dashboard faq explorer would require changes in the original Kernel/Modules/FAQ.pm. There'd be the risk of interference with other customizations, which I tried to avoid.

If the request is big enough it might push another release of the FAQ module containing the functionality. It's really not that big an effort, so maybe...
