LDAP/AD Sync mandatory?

Post by Mothra »

Is it mandatory to sync LDAP or Active Directory with the local OTRS database? The manual seems to suggest it's an optional step, but when I try and set it up, although I authenticate fine, OTRS complains that it can't find any user data.
OTRS 3.2.11 on Centos 6.4 with MySQL 5.0. Agents and internal customers authenticate via Active Directory.

not necessary - you can work with local users (and authentication) as well
Produktiv:
OTRS 6.0.13/ ITSM 6.0.13
OS: SUSE Linux (SLES 12, Leap), MySql 5.5.x, 5.6.x
Windows 2012 AD Integration (agents and customers), Nagios integration (incidents, CMDB), Survey, TimeAccounting

So why does OTRS complain that there's "No UserData for user jdoe", and refuse to let me log in, even though a couple of lines earlier in the log file, it claims "authentication ok"?
