I'm new to the forums so please go easy on me

We started on build 3.0.0-beta3 about 4 months ago and we didnt really update it over time as we thought well if it isnt broke then leave it idea but I thought it was time to upgrade our system to the latest stable build 3.0.3-01. Before I did the upgrade I backed up the whole directory of my OTRS (/opt/otrs) and backed up our MySQL database.
I downloaded OTRS 3.0.3-01 on my Centos5 distrubition and used 'rpm -i --replacefiles otrs-3.0.3-01.noarch.rpm' as root to install the latest build, didnt get any errors and everything went fine. Restarted HTTPD, MYSQLD and OTRS. I logged into my OTRS system and everything was fine so I was really happy until I tried to either create a new phone ticket, email ticket or reply to a ticket because the text box has disappeared.... Unforunately I would have uploaded a screen shot but needed to revert back to my old build 3.0.0-beta3 before people started to complain.
Anyone have any idea's if I did something wrong? Would it be better if I upgraded version after version instead of 3.0.0-beta3 straight to 3.0.3-01?
Any help would be much appreciated.
