[SOLVED] Ticket created, no emails sent

[kmdot]

I am using 2.4, and when I create email ticket. or any other email sending tasks, the task completes but no mail is sent?

Using send mail.

When I use SMTP i get error

Software error:

No SASL mechanism found
at /usr/share/perl5/Authen/SASL.pm line 77
at /usr/share/perl/5.10/Net/SMTP.pm line 143

so have steared clear of smtp

If i use SMTPS i just get error connecting
