What Is Functionality of "Involve Agent" "Inform Agent"

Hi,

When I enable "involve agent" or "inform agent" im getting a list of agents to whom a note can be informed about. But after I click submit nothing happens, no email is sent or notification is popping in otrs or anything. So I'm wondering what does this actually do?
