removing signature field from new tickets send via email

Post by tpham »

We have a confidentiality notice that attaches to every email sent from our exchange server. This poses a problem when users send an email to our helpdesk to create a ticket. It clutters the ticket with unnecessary text. Is it possible to filter the signature out of emails sent to helpdesk? OR at least a way to EDIT the original ticket to delete out all the text? I have found that OTRS doesnt like deletion of anything... Thanks!

I didn't say that. I meant to use it as an SMTP server, not as a repository for your users.

But you're saying your own users, internally, to each other, automatically get that disclaimer on all email messages?
Edit: or do you mean your help desk is outside of the exchange server and therefore all your users are sending to the helpdesk with the disclaimer, not that all the responses from OTRS have the disclaimer?

Also, don't you have the ability to turn off the disclaimer for certain email addresses? Hint: Exclusions in GFI Mail Essentials.

The disclaimer is on all emails sent within our Exchange server. Therefore, when creating tickets by email, its attached to the body of the ticket :( We dont have GFI installed but I dont think that would work considering we need the disclaimer everywhere else but internally in our helpdesk system.
