Backup strategy

Post by jeanmonod »

Hi all,

I'm going to install a new OTRS 3.0.9 and I wonder what's the best backup strategy? That's large subject, and it would be nice to share some feedbacks...
I have try the provided scripts backup.pl and restore.pl, but, IMO, it's strange to backup all the source code... As almost everything is in the database, except the configuration files, wouldn't be enougth to backup only the database?
And what about incremental backup? Is someone of you, have found a way to do this?

Just mysqldump the whole db and backup the entire OTRS folder. From that you can restore anything.
OTRS: 3.0.9 & ITSM 3.0.4 - OS: Windows 7 - DB: MySQL - Heaps of random/useful hacks :)
